When I got my first pack of construction paper - for Christmas or my birthday or some such thing - I wondered (out loud) why it was called construction paper.

"Because," my dad told me, "you make things with it."

And make things with it I did: crowns, cards, books,...

Eventually, I graduated to scrapbook paper, though - since I often work with kids - I've almost always had construction paper on hand.

I never stopped making cards.

In recent years, I've even started making books again.

Currently, my creative work is bringing me deeper into the world of making with paper - cutting, rearranging, layering, building, and securing - and I could not be more delighted and grateful to be using this favorite pastime to bring more dimension to my work.
